On Friday we drove all across Hamburg, always trying to escape the almost inevitable traffic jam on the freeway so we could still make it in time for the GameJam in Harburg. Only 2 minutes before the event began we managed to reach our destination.
The location left nothing to be desired: Enough workspace, a little stage for presentations and a pantry filled with fresh fruits, snacks and a freezer that's translucent front door gave insight on how every fellow developer would try to maintain his will to stay awake: "energy drinks".
Overwhelmed with motivation we awaited the announcement for the theme, which would be the core of every game that was about to be in development.
Dead silence. We were shocked. What was woilenz supposed to be?!? Short after that someone said:"Did you mean violence?". And violence it was. Violence as a theme for a videogame wasn't something we were prepared for. ...
